Working together on liveability and accessibility in and around Brussels

Together with the residents of the surrounding municipalities, we will investigate how we can turn the Flemish Periphery and Brussels into a liveable and easily accessible region where it is a pleasure to live and work.

This is why we are working together on public transport, cycling infrastructure, liveability.

A safe combination of public transport, cycling and car

In order to safeguard sustainable mobility in the future, we will need to develop and strengthen the various modes of transport on and along the Ring. We are consciously aiming for mobility in which the safe combination of car, bicycle and public transport is a reality.

Multimodal junctions

To create a safe and straightforward combination of different modes of transport, we are developing new Park & Rides. At Park & Rides, you can quickly switch from car or bicycle to public transport and vice versa.

By creating space for green and local connections, we are reducing the barrier effect of the Ring for people and animals. We are determined to create a Ring which connects rather than divides.

Together with residents from the surrounding municipalities, we are looking into how the work on the Ring can increase liveability, how we can tackle rat-running, and how we can improve air quality and limit noise pollution.
