HST-route

The ‘Werken aan de Ring’ programme aims to provide better cycling infrastructure. We are building safe bicycle paths and comfortable bicycle bridges and tunnels. They will enable you to cycle quickly and smoothly along and across the Ring. This is how we plan to offer road users a worthy alternative to the car and to gradually reduce the number of cars on the Ring. The construction of the F3 bicycle highway is part of this ambition.

Flat, straight and fast transport from Machelen to Zaventem

The F3 HST bicycle route runs parallel to the HST railway line between Leuven and Brussels. It is  a flat, straight and fast connection, creating easy links between cycling and public transport. This bicycle highway is completed within the ‘Werken aan de Ring’ programme and addresses the following points:

• We created the missing link between the Keibergstraat in Zaventem and the Lodewijk Vankeerberghenstraat in Machelen.
• A new bicycle bridge over the Brussels Ring Road means that cyclists and pedestrians will be able to cross it safely.
• We created a link to the Keiberg-Kouterveld industrial park.
