Hoppin points

What is a Hoppin Point?

A Hoppin Point is a place where you can easily transfer between one means of transport to another. Depending on the location, you will find bicycle parking spaces, tram and bus stops, shared vehicles, a Park & Ride, etc.

The Flemish government wants to promote the Hoppin Points everywhere in Flanders, and a number of them will be added to the Werken aan de Ring project.

Why a Hoppin Point?

Combining means of transport makes it easier to get to your destination sustainably. If you do not have a train station nearby, you could, for example, cycle to the station and take the train there, then on arrival take a shared scooter for the last kilometre.

Hoppin Points are an important link on the road to sustainable convenient mobility for everyone.

Where will the Hoppin points be?

Werken aan de Ring provides a number of Hoppin Points at Park & Rides. They allow you to leave your car at the edge of the city, thus reducing car traffic into the city.

Depending on the needs and the available space, you will find bicycle parking facilities at the Park & Rides (bicycle rack, bicycle locker or bicycle shed) and sharing systems (shared bicycles and/or shared cars).

Train stations are also Hoppin points. Together with the Federal government, the Werkvennootschap is improving the parking infrastructure for bicycles and cars at a number of railway stations in the Brussels Periphery.
