Work in Sint-Annalaan
Ring trambus
The project in brief
The works on the Sint-Annalaan are part of the construction of the Ring trambus route. The Sint-Annalaan has been completely rebuilt from the Meeuwenlaan–Rozenlaan junction to the roundabout linking it with the Romeinsteenweg and Strombeeklinde. We placed a separated sewer system underground that collects and disposes of wastewater and rainwater as segregated streams.
Above ground, we renewed all junctions, created separate bus lanes in the middle of the avenue, and laid a new road, bicycle path and footpath on both sides. Parking spaces have been provided alongside the bus lane, on the left-hand side of the roadway, so that driveways and garages can be accessed safely and easily.
The presence of the bus lane and smart traffic lights at the junctions enable the coming Ring trambus to drive down Sint-Annalaan smoothly. The bus will be able to traverse heavy traffic easily and at the intersections it will get green lights faster than cars.
New timetable for bus line 820 from 1 January 2022
From 13 December onwards, De Lijn will occasionally be using the separate bus lanes on the Sint-Annalaan. The new timetable for the Ring trambus (bus line 820), as well as for the 230, 231 and 232 bus lines, will be in operation from Saturday 1 January 2022.
Information about the new timetables is already available at www.delijn.be.
