Het Voor - Koningslo
Ring trambus
The work on Het Voor in Koningslo is being done in the context of the construction of the route with free bus lanes for the Ringtrambus. This follows the work on the St Annalaan.
Vinkenlaan, Warandelaan and Opperveldlaan
From April 2023 to December 2023
In connection with the future new route of the Ringtrambus (bus line 820), we will be renewing three more streets in Koningslo this year. These are Vinkenlaan, Warandelaan and Opperveldlaan. These streets will be modified to allow smooth and safe passage of the Ringtrambus. At the same time, we are improving comfort and safety for cyclists and each street will have a separate cycle lane.
The work in Vinkenlaan and Warandelaan will begin mid April. Both streets will be tackled at the same time and the work will take about six months. The reconstruction of Opperveldlaan will follow next and take place from August to December 2023.
Meeuwenlaan
The new Meeuwenlaan has been in full use since 18 March 2022
From August 2021 to mid-March 2022, the Meeuwenlaan underwent a real metamorphosis. The street was given separate drainage, parking strips, separate cycle paths, wide footpaths and 32 new trees. The old bus stops at the roundabout were converted into comfortable trambus stops. Since Friday 18 March, all traffic, including the 24m-long Ringtrambus (bus line 820), has once again been flowing normally through the Meeuwenlaan.

Vinkenlaan and Warandelaan
From April to July 2023
Since 7 July, traffic can drive normally again through Vinkenlaan and Warandelaan, and cyclists can also use the new cycle path.

Opperveldlaan
From 31 July to early 2024
On 31 July 2023, we will start the renewal of Opperveldlaan. The street will get new sewers, a new road surface, separate bike path, parking lanes, green areas and pavements. The roundabout with Albert I laan will also get new bicycle and footpaths.
During the works, Opperveldlaan will be closed to all traffic. There is also disruption on the roundabout with Albert I laan. You can read all about the temporary traffic situation from 31 July under the 'Detour' button.
Opperveldlaan closed and Albert I avenue dead at roundabout
From 31 July, Opperveldlaan will be unavailable to traffic. The side streets of Opperveldlaan will temporarily run dead to the works.
The roundabout with Albert I laan will also only be half available. You can only use it in the direction of the centre and Kassei, i.e. from Warandelaan or Kwakkelstraat to Albert I laan.
Traffic from the centre and Kassei cannot go under the Brussels Ring Road (R0) bridge to reach Koningslo. It is best to use the R0 via exit 6 'Koningslo-Vilvoorde' to exit 7 'Grimbergen' to get to Koningslo.
Cyclists detour in both directions through the renovated Vinkenlaan and Warandelaan.
