Single point of contact for companies within the Work on the Ring programme

Brussels and the Flemish Periphery are a very important area economically. The region has a strong attraction for businesses. Business accessibility, however, is decreasing due to structural congestion.

With the Work on the Ring programme, the Government of Flanders aims to address the current mobility problems and provide continued support for economic growth in the region. Therefore, we are investing in safer infrastructure and better accessibility for bicycle, public transport, car and freight traffic alike. Those infrastructure works already offer new mobility solutions (think of the many new bicycle highways, the Ringtrambus or the reconfigured traffic complex on Medialaan). The planned large-scale redevelopment of the Ring Road itself will also provide new opportunities.

It is clear that both current and future works raise questions. For example, in terms of disruption. Companies, SMEs, sports centres, cultural centres and other institutions that generate large mobility flows can contact the experts at the Business Centre directly with their questions. But we do more than simply inform.

Inform, and also unburden, question and activate

1. Inform

We provide companies with timely information on planned infrastructure works, disruption and newly completed projects within the Working on the Ring project. Be sure to subscribe to the Business Point newsletter and follow our calendar of info events.

2. Unburden

For example, we provide useful tools to disseminate information to their employees and suppliers. Be sure to check out our accessibility sheets. These provide a detailed overview of the accessibility of a company or business zone.

3. Question

We examine the attitude of companies towards the Work on the Ring programme, the works themselves, the measures aimed at reducing disruption and the communication carried out. We also pick up comments and concerns and address them. We do this through periodic surveys.

4. Activate

We engage and encourage companies to take the necessary steps with us in our ambitious modal shift. Switching from cars to bicycles and public transport is a crucial step towards smoother mobility and more liveable environments for both our business and private lives.
