Cycling infrastructure

We want cycling to be an enjoyable experience, both for recreational and and commuting cyclists. That is why we are striving to create a joined-up cycling network, traffic safety and great integration of cycling roads into public spaces. The construction of safer and more efficient infrastructure will encourage bicycle use and increase quality of life in the region.

What we are doing for cyclists:

  • separating cycle paths from roads
  • constructing fast, new cycle paths
  • connecting cycle paths with public transport.

Bike highways will be 4-metre-wide cycle paths which will serve as rapid connections between busy areas. These will be indicated with the letter 'F’ and a number.

The first fully-fledged bicycle highway within the 'Working on the Ring' program is a fact. Read all about it in the 2019 annual report!
